The Library

Is it a bad thing when you have 33 items on hold at the library and they start coming in like 6 at a time? I don't really know. I get to putting things on hold, and next thing I know, there's over 30...silly me, I think they will come in a bit at a time, but no....my luck will hold and they will all come in at once.

Two weeks ago, I went in to pick up one or 2 books that were on hold for me. I walked out with about 12 books. I have only read about 1/2 of them. Some I thought sounded good, but I couldn't get past the first few pages. Mainly, I didn't like the voice of the book. The one book How to Seduce A Ghost sounded interesting from the jacket, but the narrator was so ANNOYING I wanted to kick her across the room. So I skipped to the very end, figured out who the mystery person was, and called it done. Needless to say, I didn't count that on my book list.

There was one book that I just turned in a while ago, that I think was like 10 days overdue. My overdue charge was only 80cents! I think they don't charge for days they aren't usually open (like Sundays), even though they are open on Sundays during the school year.

Anyway, I love my local library...the people there are nice, and since they are part of a group, I can get books from lots of different places. Plus, it's air conditioned and comfortable to spend time in there out of the heat!

Memorial Day

I happened to catch a glimpse of this editorial on the Washington Post website and it pretty much summed up what my opinion is of the current Memorial Day observance.
